Mine had to be planning my sons’ 1st birthday. We were planning it at a park – iffy for early april in NC…there ended up being storms passing through that day – thankfully, it held off until 1pm (the end of the party…) the skies opened and DUMPED rain!

The biggest birthday fiasco in general, not just the party, was when I ended up in the hospital with a subsequent 6-week recovery. The invitations were out. The place reserved. It was my son’s 6th b-day and important to him. Anyway… we had to postpone the party 2 MONTHS. That bothered him, but he was good about it. It was learning at the last minute that we didn’t have treats for his class on the day of his birthday that sent him into orbit. Thanks to my amazing boss, her years of parenting experience, and a great friend, Red Rover was taken care of, but still remembers that birthday as the one where my illness screwed everything up! What do you do???

We planned an outdoor birthday party for my daughter and it rained and everything got wet.
I had decided to make the cakes for my son’s party, and went too far in the design. I tried to make a Lightening McQueen shaped cake. All went well until I tried to cover it in fondant (my first time using it). Well, first I couldn’t get it to cover it all, then it ripped. I finally got it pretty well covered and I discovered I had dyed my hands bright red, along with the counter top. It took 2 days for my hands to go back to normal. Ugh!

my husbands b day party this year… he was whiney.,
We were supposed to be having a party for my son’s 2nd grade class. Little did I know that he also invited 10 other friends. Needless to say mom was not prepared for 30 kids.
We were clebrating my daughters 3 b-day and I had planned an outdoor party and had put all these things in the yard for a treasure hunt and had a bunch of outdoor activities planned when a rainstorm came up and scrapped all those plans. Who says it doesn’t rain in CA? LOL
I hate planning parties – this is great! We planned a party at a huge arcade/ putting golf / laser tag place and invited my daughter’s entire class. It was a nightmare. All the kids were screaming, I could not keep track of the kids (there were 21) and the party planner did not help at all…
My biggest birthday planning fiasco so far was my son’s 3rd birthday party. It was the batman theme. I found my birthday supplies, which took a while to win them at a price I was willing to pay, plus invite the kids from his class, decorate, set up food and decorations, all while taking care of my 1 year old son.

At my wedding, the slide show that I made was appearing all blue so it was very difficult to see. My husband, who is a computer guy, knew that it was because my brother connected this other thing to the computer. We were sitting at the head table and I was arguing with him trying to get him to fix it but he didn’t want to have to say anything to my brother. I didnt want to go because the bride walking across the room was so noticeable plus I didn’t real get how to fix it. Needless to say, I’m still a little upset at him about it.
It rained the day we planned the party for.
My son’s 3rd birthday party is going to be on Nov. 2nd- but I would love this book anyway for future parties! Thanks!
I was hosting a baby shower and dropped the cake on the floor as guests were arriving. So embarassing!
I don’t think I’ve yet had a fiasco… Maybe this book will keep it that way!

For my daughter’s first birthday I wasn’t planning on throwing a party. Then, a few days before the party I decided I wanted to have the party. I had to invite everyone via text message. Not everyone got the message and it ended up being pretty embarrasing.
This would help me out SO much!!

we had hid the cake in the oven becuase it was a big sheet cake and an inlaw came in and thought we were making something instead the oven – well we were actually grilling and the cake sorta burnt up while we all were outside grilling
I try to have pinata at every kids party. Well at my sons party things got a little out of hand and his poor friend got thump on the nose from the pinata stick. He was a little shook up, but there was no physical damage, thank goodness!
Planned an all girls Valentines party and accidentally send the invite to ONE guy. He showed up. He was happy.
For my son’s first birthday, we threw a party in our backyard. It was fairly cold that day and we forgot to mention the party was outside, so nobody came prepared. I had to ransack our house for extra coats for all the kids and parents.
Having about 15 kids for a 2 year old birthdya party was one then another was making my first grader invite all the boys even though he didn’t want to. One of the boys he didn’t want was so disrespectful to me I should have listened to my son abou this kids character. The boy was later kicked out of school.

Mine has always just been getting a good date that everyone can make. Especially for my youngest since she was born the day before July 4th, everyone is out of town.
My biggest party mess up was having the invitations printed with the wrong date..and not knowing about it until the week before! Sooo embarrassing!
Ours wasn’t so bad, but we forgot to take into account the time of the party as related to the time my son (then turning 1) normally naps. So, he wasn’t extremely excited about the party, and he wasn’t interested in his cake at all, unless we would spoon-feed it to him… So much for the classic pics of the baby diving into the cake!

My biggest fiasco was planning a surprise party and the guest of honor made other plans!

It had to be my oldest son’s 2nd bday. I worked for days on all these little decorations and banners and that day the wind was so bad at the park, half of them got lost and the other half I packed away so they wouldn’t fly away too!
