Homemade ice cream IS the best!
Wednesday, July 23, 2008
I remember mixing together the ingredients for fresh ice cream, as a little girl, and enjoying a big bowl after the agonizing wait ... There is just something about homemade ice cream on a hot summer day, especially if it's made with fresh strawberries!
I think every family should experience the joy of creating their very own ice cream. Whether you like fresh strawberry, creamy vanilla, or decadent chocolate, ice cream is a breeze to make in a Hamilton Beach Ice Cream Maker.
The best part about this fabulous ice cream maker is that it makes ice cream, frozen yogurt & gelato in only 25-40 minutes ... Not too long for the little kiddos to wait! And, its automatic so you don't need ice or salt.
To continue the celebration of National Ice Cream Month, I have a Hamilton Beach 1.5 quart Ice Cream Maker to give to one lucky reader!
Here's how to enter:

I love all their features!! But my most fave would be the fits easily in freezer part. That means it's not too big and anything that fits my freezer is just lovely!

Kate
July 24, 2008 5:51 AM
I like that you don't need salt or ice...who keeps salt like that on hand? And the "go anywhere" handle is funny too, as if you can't leave home without your ice cream maker. However it would be good to take on vacation with you. I'd love one of these!
July 24, 2008 5:51 AM
Homemade ice cream in 30 min.... wow
July 24, 2008 5:52 AM
I think the fact that it is automatic grabs me! No salt or ice - yahoo!
July 24, 2008 5:55 AM
No ice and no salt? I didn't know such an ice cream maker existed! This looks way fancier than my 30 year old clunker that my grandma gave me!

I like that there is no ice or salt needed. I have made ice cream ONCE in the past and then decided it was too much trouble having to deal with the ice, salt, churning, etc. This would be so much better and easier.

The Go Anywhere Handle might be the best feature for me. If I had an ice cream maker, I would be very popular with my friends and family. They would fight over who got to invite me and my ice cream maker over. So a nifty handle would be sweet.
traymona[at]aol[dot]com
July 24, 2008 6:45 AM
oohh this is so exciting!! The best feature for me is that it comes with recipes. I have never made ice cream before but what a fun activity to do with the kids!!
July 24, 2008 6:46 AM
I like the large ingredient opening on the 1.5 qt ice cream maker. I've tried a small in-freezer ice cream maker that had such a small opening for adding fruit, etc., and it was dificult to work with.
July 24, 2008 6:48 AM
Automatic-no ice or salt needed.
I always hated that part.
hetz-junk(at)hotmail(dot)com
July 24, 2008 6:52 AM
You make it yourself. You know for sure what's in it.
July 24, 2008 6:52 AM
I love that it is automatic and doesn't need salt or ice! When I was a kid (okay, let me REALLY show my age!) we had to take turns cranking the handle (I know!) to make the ice cream. And it took FOREVER!
It's also great that it fits in the freezer! Thanks for the chance to win!
July 24, 2008 6:56 AM
I like that it can fit in the freezer AND the handle because many times you'll want to take it somewhere such as a cover dish supper, birthday party, etc.
July 24, 2008 6:56 AM
My favourite feature is that you can make fresh Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt and Gelato!
Plus it's right at your fingertips. No need to run out to the store or ice cream shop. Make it in your kitchen or bring it with you because of the neat "go anywhere" handle.
Yum!
July 24, 2008 6:59 AM
I love that it makes yogurt too, we are yogurt fiends in this house!

July 24, 2008 7:01 AM

I adore that it is automatic and it only takes 30 minutes to make, and that it makes yogurt.
July 24, 2008 7:07 AM

Oh, how I've been wanting an ice cream maker... after all, we spend a fortune on ice cream since it's my husbands favorite treat! Anyways, I love that it doesn't require salt or ice. I hated having to do that part for my mom when I was little. But of course it was always worth it for her homemade banana or peppermint ice cream... jeepcutie82 at msn dot com

July 24, 2008 7:42 AM
I love the go anywhere handle and the big opening for pouring in ingredients. I've been searching for good ice cream maker for over a year. I have purchased and returned two other brands because they just didn't work well. There's nothing like homemade ice cream! Like I said on another blog giveaway "Oh me! Oh my! I could eat ice cream 'til I die!"
July 24, 2008 7:47 AM
The most appealing feature for me is the extra-large ingredient opening. I have seen some ice cream makers that seem to have a small ingredient opening that would probably make for a mess. Thanks for the giveaway!
July 24, 2008 7:48 AM

In my opinion, the easy-lock lid and "Go Anywhere" handle are the best features of this ice cream maker. I can guarantee my two year old is going to walk away with the WHOLE machine while saying "I do it myself!" At least this way, the ice cream is safe!
July 24, 2008 9:02 AM
Go to love it! What a great looking ice cream maker. My 90 year old dad remembers how they made ice cream.
We usually make it for his birthday.
I don't own one and my sister's still takes ice and salt. That is what I really like about this maker, it doesn't require ice or salt!
Please enter me in your drawing. Thanks, Cindi

July 24, 2008 9:22 AM
I think having a handle is a great idea. It's not the kind of appliance you would probably leave on your counter the whole time, so that handle would come in really handy to move and store it!
crt4book[at]yahoo[dot]com
July 24, 2008 9:22 AM
I love that it's automatic. My ice cream maker needs ice and rock salt and is unbearably loud! I have to keep it outside when we make ice cream...

Love that it is automatic.
July 24, 2008 9:27 AM

The best part is the fact that you don't need ice or salt!
July 24, 2008 2:20 PM
What a FUN giveaway!
The best feature for me is the - no ice or salt needed - I remember when I was a kid and my mom and dad would make ice cream. They would fuss over the ice and salt and then the ice would start to melt and the patio (where my brother and I roller skated on) would be covered in this white sandy film from the salt. Then when we skated our wheels would get 'hung up' on the bigger pieces of salt that were left behind and we would fall. Oh the trauma of our ice cream making days. This would make life a ton easier, although we don't roller skate anymore...lol!!!!

July 24, 2008 3:59 PM
The size is my favorite feature! We went camping last weekend and I made some homemade vanilla (drooling just thinking about it!LOL!) but since my ice cream maker is larger, we had ALOT left over! Our neighbors were happy about that though!LOL! This one would be the perfect size for just the three of us! Thanks for the chance to win one!

July 24, 2008 4:23 PM
30 minutes with a handle that fits easily right into my freezer!!!!!! How can you name just one feature!?!?!?:-)
July 24, 2008 4:28 PM
It's just me and hubby right now, (unless I made some out of breastmilk for Ru, ha!) so I like that it's small since we'll eat however much I make, and that's dangerous with a big one... ;)
July 24, 2008 4:35 PM
I think one of it's best features that it makes icecream/ yogurt so quickly.
July 24, 2008 4:42 PM
I love homemade ice cream but the machine I have now uses ice and salt so I think that not having to use them sounds spectacular. Love experimenting with new flavors, recently tried bacon ice cream!!
July 24, 2008 4:50 PM
Very convenient size. I LOVE ICE CREAM! Thanks!
July 24, 2008 4:50 PM
What?!?! "no ice or salt needed"?!?!?! That is 1000 times better than the contraption I used to have. You had to watch it constantly, and always add more ice and salt, and it was SO noisy. Then one time I thought we were using more ice than usual, turns out it had sprung a leak and was draining salty water out under my microwave :( I've never replaced it and I miss the homemade ice cream :(
July 24, 2008 4:58 PM

I like the fact that it fits in the freezer, very handy in case we can't finish it all! (though for some reason, I don't envision THAT happening!

I love that it makes ice cream or yogurt, and it's fast. My hubby and kids will love how fast it is. Thanks for the great giveaway.

Oh my gosh, I love ice cream & I'd really love to win this!! What's not to love, everything about it makes it a snap to make homemade ice cream. The fact that it doesn't take salt & ice is probably my favorite feature. Thanks for a great giveaway!

Oooooh, I've been wanting to try making homemade ice cream. This looks like the perfect machine too. The size is just perfect! And I love that it fits in the freezer. Wonderful! (smeelia at gmail dot com)
