Hello, When my mom passed 8 years ago, our family was in the hospital room with her. It wasn't really expected, but we know she wasn't doing too well. She asked me if she was dying. I told her I didn't know but we had her in the hospital for care. I held her hand and told her I loved her and she told me the same. I am so glad that was the last thing I said to her. Thanks,Cindi

One of my favorite things about being a mom is when all three of my kids pile in my bed first thing in the morning. It's so much fun.

I have a husband who's father never bought his mother a present or did anything for Mother's day because she wasn't his mom. After I had my first baby, I found out the tradition was supposed to continue in our house. I told him that mother's day is also to let your spouse know how much you appreciate that they are the mother of your children and that you know how hard they work. He agreed with me and made the effort, which to me meant a lot because it wasn't how he was raised.

I left the link to my blog post about this subject on Mr. Linky. I recently posted about the things I love about my daughter... which to me is the same thing as what I love about being a mother. I hope you agree.

I love how excited my daughter gets when she has a gift for someone - its all she can do to wait until the designated time to give it. And of course, she has to help you open it. :)

I love how my girls help me to laugh. It is strange how you spend so much time laughing as a child, then stop somewhere along the line. It is great to be able to start again with my own children.

My favourite Mother's Day memory was the time that my husband was pouring concrete for a post. He had extra, so he pour it into a box, then took the kids and put their hands and feet into it and let my young son write on it with a stick. They presented me with it the next day, for Mother's Day. I loved it. I still marvel at how tiny their hands and feet were then. When we moved over 3000 miles a few years ago, I made sure that my special slab came with me. It was my best Mother's Day gift ever.

My favorite mother day memory is my first mothers day as a mom. My daughter was only 3 weeks old, and I was doing super mom, not taking care of myself, not sleeping. And they took me to my moms and gave me dinner, lots of cards and stuff from my daughter. And they took care of her so I could relax.

I loved my first Mother's Day with my son. It was the perfect day. We had a picnic, hubby liked me fresh wildflowers we took family photos and we planted a tree in honor of our little boy.

Last year at this time my Mom had just been diagnosed with both breast and ovarian cancer. In February she finished her chemo and radiation treatments and is doing really well.
My daughter-in-law will be celebrating her first Mother's Day this year and my daughter will be celebrating her first Mother's Day with her 2nd child.
Our family has a lot to be thankful for,

I love being a mom! It's fun getting hand made gifts from my daughter that she brings home from school for mothers day! She has made me a pen and pencil holder before and fake flowers in a pot. She also one year brought me home a tea packet so I could relax.

I love being a mom, for all those little moments. I can get so frustrated with my kids, and then they just do something amazing. Yesterday, I was in the kitchen with my 3 year old son, when my 1 year daughter started crying in the playroom. He just looked at me and said, "I'll go see whats wrong Mommy". I followed him in, and he was giving her a hug and kiss and telling her it was ok. Obviously he could do NO wrong for the rest of the day!

What I love about being a mom is that my 12 still loves to come climb into my lab and cuddle. He doesn't think there is a thing wrong with that or it could be when I hear in this deep voice about a foot above my ear I luv ya mom and these two big arms drop over my shoulders for my oldest son bear hug.

Well, this will be my second mothers day and I am looking forward to it. Everyday feels like mothers day to me, Alex is still showering me with hugs and kisses constantly and there is nothing sweeter to me than the sweet sounds of his laughter. I am richly blessed with an adorable, healthy little bundle and another one on the way. Motherhood has been amazing, I love it!!!

What does it for me is when the kids give me a gift they have handmade or do a chore without being told. And the best thing is hearing them tell their friends what a great Mom they have! Wonder how long that will last?

My most memorable Mother's Day memory was when I got a call from my grandfather that my grandma was rushed to the hospital and dying. They could not reach my father. We were losing time. My father was out of town for a business trip and was out of reach. I covered for my dad and was able to talk to my grandma for the last time and wished her Happy Mother's day that one Sunday afternoon 10 years ago.

For our first Mother's Day, my fiance had flowers sent to the house. I thought it was so sweet because I'd never gotten flowers before. One memory I love is when I was younger and I'd buy those gifts from the schools Mother's day shop. They had all kinds of cheaply made generic gifts which I thought were totally cool then. My mom must have at least 8 pins that say "World's Best Mom" on them... and she acted like she loved every one! I can't wait to do that with my kids.

It is hard to have Mother's Day memories when fishing opener is on Mother's Day every year. And mothers do not rate over fishing in Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes.

My favorite Mother's Day happened to also be my 30th birthday. My tow oldest children who were just over 6 and 5 yrs old. They made me breakfast in bed and cut fresh dandelions for me. Made me a home made card and brought them all to me on a old wooden bed tray. The jesture was lovely until my all knowing elddest child, my daughter told me ever so gently "Happy Birthday Mom and Happy Mother's Day, you're 30 now, it's ALL downhill from here on out." I didn't know whether to laugh or cry or both.
The all knowing one is now a mother too.....and getting a really good dose of her own medicine. :-)

Awesome giveaway and thanks for participating. Now I sure hope I win.

My boys are at that age when they know everything. I love being the MOM when they say "I need your help" or "What do you think" It's wonderful when they come to you when they need something. Everyone wants to be needed and loved.
