Mandi's Menagerie - A Giveaway!

Thursday, March 27, 2008

Because of the article that was printed in my local paper, back before Christmas, I met one of the sweetest moms one could ever meet! Her name is Amanda, and she has two adorable children. Oh, and she makes the most incredible cloth diapers, accessories, and even infant and children's clothing!

PhotobucketAfter I told her that I wanted to give cloth diapers a try, she offered to make some especially for little Noah. (They are so adorable!) I tried them out, on a few different days, and I must say that I could certainly get used to this cloth diapering thing....

If nothing else, it certainly has been a learning experience... I've discovered that I need a whole lot more than two fitted diapers, three all-in-ones, and four hemp inserts!! I've discovered that "when Noah wears cloth diapers, he looks like he has a big butt"!! And, I've discovered that I would have to do a whole lot more laundry, if I decided to use cloth diapers full-time!

Do you use cloth diapers? Do you have any tips for this cloth-diapering wanna-be?

How about trying Amanda's cloth diapers? Go visit her at Mandi's Menagerie... Did I mention that she makes clothes, too?

PhotobucketGuess what? I have a brand new fitted newborn (small) diaper and snappy cover, from Amanda, for one lucky cloth diaperin' Mama to win!

Here's what you have to do to enter:

Visit Mandi's Menagerie, and browse around... There is so much to see! Then come back and leave a comment here, by midnight April 6th, mentioning your favorite item in her shop. A winner will be chosen, at random, notified, and announced here on Monday, April 7th. (Please make sure you leave me an email address or blog address, otherwise your entry will be deleted!)

And, if you would like an extra entry, you can spread the word by linking to this giveaway and to Mandi's Menagerie. Make sure you sign the Mr. Linky (only if you decide to help spread the word) with the exact link to your post to receive the second entry.

Good luck!

This giveaway is now closed! Winner will be announced shortly.

I think the eyelet baby bonnet is super cute! Very feminine and classic. Strangely enough, one of the fabrics of the diapers and inserts is something that I just picked up at Joann Fabrics to play around with on my sewing machine because it is so darn cute!!!! I'd love to win a diaper for a friend of mine who is a cloth-diapering mama! Thanks! :)

I have been seriously thinking about making the big switch to cloth diapers for my little guy! These look great! Id love to try any of them, but overall I like the ease of an All In One! Glad to see that she makes those too!

My favs are the AIO diapers. I'm slowly building my collection. Since I'm new at cloth diapering, I figure I should choose the easiest kind to use!

Oh, how gorgeous. I love TONS of stuff on her site. I really, really fell for the wool cover with the fish on it... how adorable!

Tips for people interested in cloth:
*Mothering magazine's current issue has an overview of all the major type of cloth diapers. It's comprehensive and helpful.
*Cloth can save you big $ in the long run... or it can become an expensive hobby! ;)
*Cloth diapers are so different from 10, 20, 30 years ago - they are cute, simple, and easy to care for.
*If you try it and hate it you can resell your diapers on Craigslist or a forum like DiaperSwappers... you have very little to lose!
*Parents who use cloth are almost always happy to share their knowledge. You can find lots of helpful info online or if you see someone using cloth in real life, feel free to ask away!

We use cloth with our son- it's so much easier than it seems, especially with really fun and cute options like Amanda has. I especially like her pocket diapers- the most convenient way to use cloth diapers because they are easy, but dry fast, unlike all-in-ones. Thanks for this giveaway!

Would love to win some of these. My cousin is having a boy! Great baby gift. I prefer their Girls Dress & top 3t-6x, floral on green

I cloth diapered twins and it really didn't give me that much more laundry at all. I always thought it would, but it didn't, especially if I used covers and liners. Then you can always reuse the covers.

That website is a little difficult to maneuver. Once I was able to find my way around, the only thing I found that would work for my kids (they're all out of diapers now) is the Girls Dress & top 3t-6x, floral on green.

Cloth diapers interest me as well. Haven't tried any but am willing to give them a go.

The floral girls dress/top is beautiful. I like that it can get lots of wear throughout the years, dress to a top.

I love so much of what she offers in her store! I especially love all the adorable cloth diapers and doublers/inserts she has. I am currently expecting (my second pregnancy, but first to carry to term) and definitely plan on cloth diapering my baby. These would be awesome to use and super cute too!

All her items are so cute, but I especially like the wool covers (there was one w/ a fish on it - cute!)

And I LOVE cloth diapering. I've been cloth diapering my 14 month old since she was born (I am lucky enough to have a diaper service) and plan on cloth diapering w/ my next one (due in June). This time around though I'll be using my own diapers.

I did spend a week w/ a friend who washes all her cloth diapers and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's not TOO hard to do - she had a system going and it made me realize that it doesn't have to be overwhelming!

I'm due in two months, and we're planning on cloth diapering. (If I can afford to buy enough diapers all at once to get me started!)

I haven't seen the side snapping diaper design, so my fave item is the side snapping pocket AI2 diaper.

I love the rocket print diapers! Funky, AND OK for a girl OR boy in my book. With CDing, everything's free after #1! Except detergent, that is. My trick for my little girl is to buy capri pants in a size larger than her tops. They fit over giant diapers and aren't too long.

I use cloth diapers! I started when my youngest was 6 months old (she's 16 months now) and plan to start from the beginning with my little guy who is due in August. I love knowing I am not creating more garbage...and just love buying such cute diapers.

I'd love to win. I like her wool diaper covers, especially the newborn one with the paw print.
